On 12 May, the Pictura Gallery in Groningen will open the exhibition “… Iets met ruimte”. In the exhibition, 11 photographers explore the limits of photography and the gallery together. Together they create a new universe. The group previously exhibited in Den Helder and is again given the chance by Galerie Pictura to take over a space.
The premise of the exhibition is the concept of “space”. All photographers investigate this concept in their own unique way. It is about the space in and outside the image, the space in ourselves and around us, the space that photography offers and the possibilities of the exhibition space. In their presentation developed specifically for Pictura, they are inspired by each other, the gallery and the environment.
… Iets met ruimte can be experienced from 5 May to 16 June. The participating photographers who previously exhibited together are Adrian Faes & Katharina Pöhlmann, Anna Witkowska, Arjan Post, Goran Turnšek, Hanna Snijder, Jan Theun van Rees, Mariëlle Gebben, Mémé Bartels and Mo Verlaan. They invited two extra photographers for their exhibition in Pictura. These are Corine Hörmann and Sander van der Bij, who, like Mariëlle Gebben, live and work in Groningen.
